Silver Star is a quiet family friendly resort that is neighbours to Big White. The resort was inspired by a typical nineteenth century British Columbian mining town era with Victorian architecture and is made up of a brightly coloured car-free village. Most of the accommodation is ski in/ski out so just perfect for families as it is very safe. As Big White is just a bus ride away, it is also easy to make this part of a twin centre holiday. The transfer is just an hour from Kelowna so that there is no long transfer after an international flight which is great.

Ski Silver Star

Silver Star receives an average of 276 inches of beautiful, dry powder snow every year so just perfect for learning to ski powder. This is a huge mountain that has skiing and boarding for all abilities. There are trees that go right to the top of the mountain so that on bad visibility days you will still be able to have fun and ski high. For beginners the nursery area is just by the village so easy to get to in the morning. Intermediates are likely to enjoy Vance Creek for fast cruising and Silver Woods has some lovely runs through the trees. Experts are not left out as there are some great single and double diamond blacks with many of these being bump runs so your legs are guaranteed to be left burning at the end! Putnam Creek is known for its near-vertical descents where the chutes are full of fresh powder. Why not ski with one of the Silver Star Ski Partners that take guided tours twice daily from the village, that way you will be skiing and boarding the best areas of the mountain and may find some areas that you might not have found yourselves. The Telus Park on the Vance Creek side has a terrain park that is well suited to beginners and intermediates so fun for all!

Silver Star Apres Ski

The bars and restaurants in Silver Star are pretty relaxed with the Club Saloon and the Den Bistro being the liveliest places to go with live music. Off the slopes there is a natural ice rink on the lake, tubing and sleigh rides.

Silver Star Childcare

Star Kids Daycare Centre is open from 0830hrs to 1600hrs, 7 days a week. They accept children from 18 months to 5 years old

Silver Star Snowsport School

The Snowsport School has a variety of lessons on offer such as groups, private, beginners and children's lessons. They also have Ladies Day's, Men's Day's and Spring Camps
