Steamboat Ski Holidays

Steamboat has a fantastic snow record with recent seasons seeing more than 30 feet of the white stuff! Flights are either into Denver where the transfer is about 4 hours or Hayden where you can be in resort in half an hour. The resort village is just a 10 minute bus ride from the old town of Steamboat Springs and many of the properties are ski in/ski out so access to the slopes is never a problem. Wherever you stay, you are bound to be impressed by the traditional Western hospitality on offer.

Ski Steamboat

Steamboat is a firm favourite of intermediates and families. Children can ski and rent for free up to 12 years old as long as they are pre booked and the adults are renting too. If your children book into a Desperados Ski Week they will have an awesome time as they will stay in the same group all week and as well as bringing on their skiing and boarding they will take part in loads of extra fun stuff such as treasure hunts, races etc. Intermediates will find that most of the mountain is perfect with long cruising runs. There is an easy black on Morningside Park and some great terrain in the trees. More advanced skiers and boarders will find the main challenges to be found in the glades. Sunshine Park under the Sundown Chair is good fun. If you like bumps then head to the runs off Four Points or the Sundown Express. You can also go Snowcat skiing for something different. Snowboarders will find that there is a good learning area and plenty of gentle slopes to progress onto. More experienced riders will love the glades as they are brilliant in the fresh powder. There are four terrain parks with rails, jumps, a quarter pipe and a super pipe.

Steamboat Apres Ski

The base lodge area has more life than the old town in the evening but it is still definitely worth a visit for a dance. The Slopeside Grill is the place to go at the end of the day and there is live music and dancing in the Tugboat. There is also a nightlife trail map for those looking for the typical pub crawl! Away from the beer the resort activities are snowmobiling, ice climbing, tubing, hot air balloning and dog sledding. There are also natural hot springs  at Strawberry Park for relaxing after a few hard days on the slopes.

Steamboat Childcare

Childcare is available in Steamboat for children aged 6 months to 6 years in the Kiddie Corral Day Centre.

Steamboat Ski and Snowboard Lessons

There is a huge variety of lessons for adults and children at the Steamboat Ski and Snowboard School. Adult lessons are for those aged 16yrs plus. There are lessons for kids and teens, speciality clinics and private lessons.
