Vail Ski Holidays

It was a Mr Charles Vail who lead the building of the highway over the pass and over in the Vail Valley. However, it was two WW2 veterans who turned 'no name mountain' into the beginnings of the Vail resort that we know and love today. Vail has consistently been ranked as North America's top resort and is the largest single mountain in the US. The main places to stay in Vail are either in Vail Village or in Lionshead. There is a good variety of accommodation to choose from in Vail from its top 5 Star hotels such as the Sonnenalp to the ski in/ski out condos in the Cascade Lodge. The Antlers at Vail is also a popular choice due to its location in Lionhead right beside the lifts. Wherever you choose to stay you will be assured of fantastic service with a smile and top quality accommodation

Ski Vail

The ski area of Vail gives something for all standards of skier and snowboarder. You can get a real sense of travel when heading from one side of the resort to the other. There are three main areas including three terrain parks, seven bowls and 5289 acres of terrain to play on. Beginners will enjoy learning in the fantastic ski schools and will progress easily onto the longer runs. Intermediates will just love Vail for its easy cruising runs. There are also some easy black runs to try and definitely head over the the Blue Sky Basin area as you can have so much fun skiing the trees. Intermediates will have endless fun in the back bowls as you can pick your challenge by gradient and terrain of your choice. The Blue Sky Basin has some wonderfully steep runs and the trees are great fun. If conditions are looking good then hire a guide and head out of the ski area to the back country and try the Minturn Mile.  We recommend that if you are staying for longer than a week or are good intermediate skier and boarders then take the EPIC pass as this covers the neighbouring resorts of Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. You really cant go to Colorado without having a taste of the other resorts on your doorstep.

Vail Apres Ski

The fun doesn't stop at the end of the day in Vail. Pop into Vendetta's for an apres ski beer with the locals or head over to the Red Lion for some live music. There is also top class dining, shopping, galleries, apres ski, nightlife and spas all to be found within the pedestrian area! The Montauk Grill has fantastic seafood arriving every day from Seattle. Alternatively, if you just fancy a burger and fries then head to the Red Lion for a pitcher and a burger. If you don't want to ski or board one day then why not try some any one of the numerous activities on offer such as snow shoeing, ski biking, the nature discovery centre, cross country skiing, tubing, dog sledding or horse riding.
