Valle Nevado has a fantastic location in the Andes as it is just 60Kms from Santiago airport and sits at an altitude of 3025m. Skiing at Valle Nevado offers a fantastic quality of snow thanks to the southeast facing slopes and the altitude. The views of the surrounding mountains are simply stunning and the ski area is part of the Chilean Tres Valles so opens up the largest area of linked pistes in Chile. Valle Nevado opened it's door for the first time in 1987 and presented a resort that was inspired by the high rise, wooden developments of Les Arcs in France giving the resort a lovely French feel where everything is in walking distance.

Valle Nevado is part of the largest ski area in the Southern Hemisphere so offers terrain to keep all skiers and boarders happy. The resort links up with El Colorado and La Parva to make up the Tres Valles and is definitely worth crossing the Atlantic for somewhere different to ski. Beginner's will be happy in the local ski school and learning on the gentle, well groomed slopes. Intermediates will just love the area as they can take advantage of the highly efficient and modern lift system to ski and board the entire 23,000 acre area. For more advanced skiers there are plenty of steeps and bumps to play in. The real adventurers out there may prefer to do some heli skiing as the only heli ski operation in Chile operates in Valle Nevado. Your guide will take you to waist deep powder fields and some once in a lifetime skiing.

Valle Nevado Apres Ski

Most of of the apres ski activity in Valle Nevado happens in and around the hotels. The Puerta del Sol bar is ideal for families as they have hot chocolate for the children and speciality drinks for the adults. At the end of the day head to the Vallee Nevado hotel and relax in front of the fire and watch the sun setting. For late night dancing then head to the Tres Puntas Pub for Karaoke, dancing and live music. If you still have the energy head to the fitness centre and use the gym, do some aerobics or go for a swim. If that sounds like too much after a day on the hill then they can offer a sauna and massage instead!
